P'tit Train de la Haute Somme
The Little Train of the Great War. Railway built in 1916 for the needs of the Battle of the Somme, it was used to supply the trenches and the artillery during the First World War and then was used by the sugar factory of Dompierre. Now used as a tourist attraction, the little train offers a superb panorama of the Somme Valley up to the Santerre plateau on a one-hour round trip from Froissy to Dompierre. The visitor will be able to notice on the course the "zig-zag" which allows the convoys to climb the hillside. The museum set up at the train's departure presents an important collection of narrow-gauge rolling stock that tells the story of the little trains from 1880 to today.
