The Doullens citadel, the oldest fortress in France, has five centuries of French history to tell on a guided tour of the ramparts, galleries and dungeons.
The citadel of Doullens is the oldest fortified place in France, built even before the birth of Vauban. It was used for five centuries as a fortress and then as a prison. Today, the cultural project of Somme Patrimoine aims to share the history of the citadel with as many people as possible, but also to raise awareness of the preservation and conservation of built heritage. Visit the citadel of Doullens with a cultural mediator and discover the stages of its construction and the different uses that have been made of it since the 16th century: landscape readings, walk on the ramparts and discovery of the buildings of the citadel and the prison: bunker, counter-mines galleries,...
